The Right Take on Ashes in Writing: Symbolism

Image
Ashes are the remains of fire, they are the last stage of fire. You could use them to represent an end of a tragedy or passion spurt. In doing so you can represent a fall of an old order, the old hierarchy. Ashes on some one of power and or means can signify his loss of it. On the other side a character with little means and no power, can use this to signify redemption. A gauntlet he would run during those trying times would work as his repentance. Earning his reinstatement. In catholic tradition ash is used for marking an elevated class. A character marked with ash can represent him holding a higher status among the rest. If this is used, a wiseman or strongman must bestow it to give it credibility. At the end of the fire cycle, is the beginning of the life cycle. Ashes can be used, to show an equal and fertile beginning. In a flat field, blessed with ash,  trees need not to compete. If you show ash with embers, you can display a more active scene. A lively fire, a noble cause  being

An Introduction To Analog Horror

Image
I hate horror, I find it satanic and utterly disgusting. I don't like books, movies, shows, nothing. Even as a kid, I hated halloween. I was so startled, a jack-o-lantern made me cry. With this being said, I love analog horror. It's presentation, subject, half nostalgic feel. When I was a kid, I would hide away in my parent room and watch movies on their VHS player. Since my brother was a 90's kid, they had all the cool boy stuff. I remember watching star wars in the dark, and getting spooked by a scratch on the tape. All this leads me to say; What is analog horror? The Premise: Using analog technology(Cathode ray tv, recorders, vhs, dvd, internet before 2014,and systems[like security cams that hook up to a console] and Etc.) a story is conveyed in a non-linear format. That means you have to cut up the videos you are given and stitch a story together. Some big analog horror have AugmentedRealityGames elements. Here are some of my favorite Analog horrors... LSWT Part One

Legos, the apex of the building block genre. How does one enjoy the model after they are built. How about today, we make a game using these pieces. Well let us look at lego's most successful product line, lego starwars. Lego star wars has 890 sets, with 1328 different minifigures. We will use this line to make our game, "Lego Star Wars Tabletop". The Abstract: We are going to make a tabletop game sort of like warhammer, or star wars legions but with our own little twist.  You have your minifigures fight other minifigures, go accross the map, interact with terrain, and complete objectives. Starting out, premade minifigures will have their own stats, but as we grow more complex each figure's part will have individual statistics(Sush as different blasters and armors do different things). The Map: We are going for a large map, our measurements we will use studs, a standard map is 2x2 grey baseplates(each one being 48 studs by 48 studs). Hopefully players would build maps

The Minnow Trap Part 1

The Complex: I(Mike) want to keep 10lbs of fathead minnows for monthes at a time, but I would like to create a stucture to store them like no other. I want a post modernistic minnow tower. Here is Mk. 1  Let's break this down! 1. A hose goes out to the tank one, every three days water is released into tank two. Water is held in the first tank to de-calcify it. 2. Tank two is the main cell, has a bubbler, poop slide and outake. 3. the outake is tank three. Tank three is the serving platter for the ducks.
