LSWT Part One

Legos, the apex of the building block genre. How does one enjoy the model after they are built. How about today, we make a game using these pieces.

Well let us look at lego's most successful product line, lego starwars. Lego star wars has 890 sets, with 1328 different minifigures. We will use this line to make our game, "Lego Star Wars Tabletop".

The Abstract:

We are going to make a tabletop game sort of like warhammer, or star wars legions but with our own little twist.  You have your minifigures fight other minifigures, go accross the map, interact with terrain, and complete objectives. Starting out, premade minifigures will have their own stats, but as we grow more complex each figure's part will have individual statistics(Sush as different blasters and armors do different things).

The Map:

We are going for a large map, our measurements we will use studs, a standard map is 2x2 grey baseplates(each one being 48 studs by 48 studs). Hopefully players would build maps  and have fun creating scenery.

Currency:

Lego has made a line of games for different product lines. A reoccuring thing in all the games is stud currency. Here is how it works...

Silver stud: 10

Gold stud: 100

Blue stud: 1000

Purple stud: 10000

You buy by the unit's size and equipment.

Scale of War:

I would like to have a sliding scale game. If you look at the chart below, the 3 scales of war are squads, platoons, and companys. Squads will be fast pace, which each team moves minifigures in fireteam sizes. Platoons will be average paced, and teams will be moved in squads. Companies is slow and painful, teams will move with platoons at a time. Sqds. will have 1x1 Grey baseplate size, Plats. have 2x2 size, and Comps. will have 3x3 grey base plate mininum. Only in companies can you use vehicles.

That is the end of todays, conceptal build, if you have any ideas for part please comment!
